ペルーを公式訪問中の秋篠宮家の長女眞子さまは１３日午後（日本時間１４日未明）、世界遺産の「マチュピチュ遺跡」を視察された。

　眞子さまは２時間以上かけてインカ帝国の遺跡を回り、居合わせたラクダ科のリャマなどをカメラで撮られていた。石を隙間なく組み合わせた神殿の跡を見て「石の組み方がすごくきれいですね」と話された。

　その後、眞子さまはマチュピチュ村役場を訪問された。戦前、日本からペルーに移住し、観光地としての村の礎を築いた元村長の野内与吉さん（１８９５～１９６９年）ら歴代村長の顔写真を見学。孫で名古屋市在住の野内セサル良郎さん（４３）から与吉さんの功績について説明を受けられた。
